Create From Passions
Have you ever struggled with wanting to create art, but not knowing what to make?
You're not alone. Every creative deals with this at some point in their journey and often returns to it at different phases of life. It's okay. You're not broken.
You're just human.
As a general rule of thumb, remind yourself to create out of the overflow of your heart. That is, when you want to write, sketch, paint, shoot a video, etc., consider the things you are passionate about. What do you come back to over and over again? What activities do you look forward to doing or telling others about?
Chances are, if you're passionate about something, no matter how trivial or niche it may seem, others would benefit or find enjoyment in the art you create about that thing. No matter what you are into, other people will be as well.
But - as a general rule - don't create art for other people first. Instead, create art because you want to create it. Then share it with the world and let it find its way into the lives of those who need it most or will appreciate it fully. That's not something you control necessarily, so why make that your reason for creating?
Create beautiful things because you are passionate about them and find satisfaction in the process itself, not the feedback from others that may follow.
